  • Yamaha 5.0 rosewood marimba
Cal Perc LA Practice Room 2 with a rosewood xylophone, gold-bar Adams vibraphone, and glockenspiel on acoustic-panelled walls

Cal Perc LA Practice Room 3 with a set of five hammered-copper Yamaha timpani on an acoustic-panelled wall

Practice room questions

The things people ask before they sign up.

How much is a practice room?
$225 a month. That includes a minimum of 15 hours a week in the room, and access to the instruments in it.
Can I book a room for one day, or just an hour?
You're welcome to come for an hour — but we don't have hourly or daily rates. The minimum is one month at $225, however much of it you use.
What hours can I get in?
The building is open from 6:00am to midnight. You get your own key and an alarm code, so you're not waiting on anyone to let you in.
How do I reserve a room?
Subscribers book time slots through our app. Most people reserve four or five days out, sometimes a week — that's what we'd recommend.
Is there a waiting list?
Not right now. We have about 26 subscribers and room for more, so if you want a spot you can have one.
How long am I committed for?
One month minimum. After that it continues month to month, and we ask for 30 days' notice to cancel.
How does payment work?
We keep a card on file and charge it on the first of the month.
Can I share a subscription with a friend?
No — it's one subscription per person.
Can I leave my own gear here?
Yes. Most subscribers keep their own snare, tambourine, and triangle here. A small locker is included, subject to availability.
What if the room I want is taken?
It's rarely a problem. There are instruments in every room, so people work on something else and move over when it frees up. Our subscribers are a good community about it.
